Novela soundtrack records are out!

This year, I've been lucky enough to have my work as pianist, keyboardist, arranger and conductor featured prominently in three novelas that air every week day and Saturdays in Brazil: Malhação, Sangue Bom and Amor à Vida. Since I spent most of my time on the past week traveling up and down and working on my current projects, I thought this was a good opportunity to show these records that came out recently:

And they are both on iTunes! Here's Amor à Vida  by Iuri Cunha and Sangue Bom  by Victor Pozas. You can listen to a good chunk of the CD with these links!

The quality is top-notch; we recorded some of the finest musicians in Rio de Janeiro. I thank my mentors João Paulo Mendonça (musical producer for Malhação), Victor Pozas (musical producer for Sangue Bom) and Iuri Cunha (musical producer for Amor à Vida) for the frequent opportunities to take part on endeavors like these!

First post!

Hello all!

What better way to begin this blog? Last Monday and Tuesday—November 11 and 12 (my birthday!) we had the second string sessions for the 8 o'clock novela, Amor à Vida, produced by my great friend and mentor Iuri Cunha. The team of musicians led by the incredible violinist Bernardo Bessler did an incredible job with my arrangements and, needless to say, we left the studio very happy with the results.

I miss my batons. The first one was gifted to the incredible conductor Luigi Pagliarini, who found it to be the perfect weight and size for him during our stay at the Seasons Music Festival in Yakima, WA; the second broke in two on the flight back to Brazil. This picture was taken right before I had to start conducting with my pencil—I find flailing my arms for hours very taxing.
